Drawing on fine art training, colour is worked into the jewellery. To create these vibrant pieces a sheet of metal is painted using dyes whilst leaving some areas unpainted. This is then dipped into a vat of single colour dye which pulls all the painted colours together to make one completed painting. This background colour is also the colour that can be seen inside the bangles or back of the jewellery.
Once completed, the painting is studied to see how the dyes have been absorbed into the metal and from this the jewellery is designed by deciding what shapes to cut. It is this technique that makes each piece of jewellery totally unique, dynamic and wearable art.

The formed pieces are finished by hand which creates the highly polished edges forming a frame, just like a painting. Throughout the forming process the bangles are put under stress which creates fine pressure lines which gives them an almost holographic nature and a unique attractiveness.
As a fine artist, I take inspiration from all around me and do not work to pattern. My designs are implied rather than literal.
A feature of the website service is that the jewellery is shipped in individually hand painted boxes by the artists. |
